Dog Shows: NSW Samoyed Open Show

A little disappointing, in the number of entries, to the NSW Samoyed Club’s Open Show, tonight. There were only about 10 entered.

Ali didn’t do any good at all. Didn’t really get a “look in” in the classes, and later in the property classes, didn’t even manage a 3rd place in any of the Best Head, Best Coat, Best Boned or Best Gait classes.

Starting to wonder, if it is worth continuing to show her, as she doesn’t seem to be the type of Samoyed that any of the judges are looking for!

Dog Show: St George (Dble)

Well, a bit of a mixed day, today. This was a double show, a Red and a White show.

First up for Ali, was the sweepstakes, but as usual she wasn’t settled and wasn’t too interested. Then they were into the White show. 20121208_Dog Show-St George (12 of 26)Ali didn’t get get much in the breed, but later was picked out for Best Minor Puppy in Group. 20121208_Dog Show-St George (8 of 26)

She did better in the Red show, sort off, where she picked up Runner Up Best of Breed, but didn’t pickup any points as she was reserve challenge ;-(

Then didn’t progress past the group judging.

Dog Show: Fairfield

Well, true to form, one good weekend is followed by a not so good one Winking smile

Ali did well in her class, but, during the challenge judging she just wouldn’t stand still. She kept doing pirouette’s around Kylie, which was funny to watch, for everyone except Kyle’s!

Ahh well… next week!

It’s a shame Ali didn’t stand like this, when she was in the ring!

Brendan, handling Elvira,  came 2nd in his Junior handler’s and was a little confused. He was asked to do a triangle, but was hard up against the edge of the ring. He just wasn’t sure where to go !

Wakeboarding on the Shoalhaven

It was forecast to be very hot, today. Up in the high 30’s.

So with Ali’s habit of digging all the water out of all the water bowls, we decided to take her with us, down to the river, wakeboarding.

We were a little concerned, that Ali wouldn’t like being in the boat, with all the noise from the big 350hp V8.

Wow, didn’t she just love it! Loved being in the boat, loved being in the water and just loved being part of everything for the whole day.

Dog Show: Dalwood Children’s Charity

First points! Woo Hoo!

Ali was, showing, very nicely today. Though in sweepstakes she didn’t want to have anything to do with it.20121124_Dog Show_Dalwood Childrens Charity (4 of 22)

In the classes, she did well, getting challenge bitch, then Runner-Up Best of Breed, to Barry Scott’s Benji. Benji was looking especially good tonight!

Keeping things going into the group judging , she did a wonderful job, and though she kept moving about, Kylie managed to have her stacked well, whenever the judge was looking at them Winking smile.

The judge, Mr W M Gunter, picked her out for Best Minor Puppy in Group, and was nice enough to comment that he thought she would have a very good chance in the General Specials judging.

Unfortunately, it was not to be. By now, it was getting quite late, this being a night show, and I think Ali had had enough. She played up for the judge, and didn’t want to run. Never mind, it was still a very good day. Ali received her first points toward her championship, but, still has a long way to go! 20121124_Dog Show_Dalwood Childrens Charity (20 of 22)

With all the excitement of getting her challenge, we forgot to pick up her Challenge Ribbon, Though we did remember the Challenge Certificate. Barry said he would try to get it for us
